2026 USA Jigsaw Nationals

2026 was my first year competing in all three rounds — Individual, Pairs, and Teams (of 4 people). I qualified for finals in pairs and teams, but did not qualify in Individuals, and our teams photo is featured in The Guardian.

In addition to myself, my parents will also be competing as a pair for the first time. You can read more about the competition.

9:15am ET: Individual preliminary (Andrew)

Individual competitions are held on 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have an hour and a half to either complete or finish as much of the puzzle as possible.

I competed in the Individual A Preliminary round, the first round of competition that determines your placement in finals. I was at table 103, and the results are on worldjigsaw.org. I finished in 1:20:17 and secured 125th place which did not qualify me for finals, as anticipated.

2:00pm ET: Indivial Preliminary (Michael)

Individual competitions are held on 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have an hour and a half to either complete or finish as much of the puzzle as possible.

My pairs partner, Michael, competed in the Individual C Preliminary round, the first round of competition that determines your placement in finals. He was at table 45 and the results are on worldjigsaw.org. He finished the puzzle in 52:30 and secured 32nd place, advancing him to the finals.

Saturday, March 28, 2026

9:00am ET: Pairs Preliminary (Andrew & Michael)

Pairs competitions are held on 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have an hour and 15 minutes to either complete or finish as much of the puzzle as possible.

I competed with Michael Ha in Pairs A Preliminary round. We were at table 63 and our results are on worldjigsaw.org. We completed the puzzle in 38:21, which placed us 66th and qualified us for finals.

11:00am ET: Pairs Preliminary (Bob & Ruth)

Pairs competitions are held on 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have an hour and 15 minutes to either complete or finish as much of the puzzle as possible.

My parents competed in Pairs B Preliminary round. They were at table 186 and their results are on worldjigsaw.org. They assembled 266 pieces and placed 194th, which did not qualify them for finals — but they achieved their goal of having fun and not coming last!

1:30pm ET: Teams Preliminary (Jigsaw JAMM)

Teams Preliminary competitions are held on two puzzles: one 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzle and one 1000pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzle, and competitors have 2 hours and 15 minutes to either complete or finish as much of both of the puzzles as possible.

My team (myself, Michael Ha, Michelle Bone, and Julia Buck) competed in Teams A Preliminary round. We were at table 25 and you can see the results on worldjigsaw.org. We finished both puzzles in 1:41:20 and placed 39th, advancing us to the finals.

Sunday, March 29, 2026

9:00am ET: Pairs finals

Pairs competitions are held on 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have an hour and 15 minutes to either complete or finish as much of the puzzle as possible.

Michael and I made the finals and competed at table 131. You can see the results on worldjigsaw.org — we finished the puzzle in 54:01 and tied for 155th place.

11:00am ET: Individal finals

Individual competitions are held on 500pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have an hour and a half to either complete or finish as much of the puzzle as possible.

Michael made the finals, and I did not. He was at table 126, and you can see the results on worldjigsaw.org. He finished the puzzle in 1:06:58, securing 156th place.

1:30pm ET: Teams finals

Teams finals competitions are held on two 1000pc unreleased Ravensburger puzzles, and competitors have three hours to either complete or finish as much of both of the puzzles as possible.

My team, Jigsaw JAMM, made the finals at table 77, and the results are on worldjigsaw.org. We finished both puzzles in 2:01:48 and secured 64th place.
